Being an astrologer – finding the tracks

When being asked what I do for living I sometimes say Astrology.

This honest answear is not for the soft hearted.

The next question is usually:

Really?!? Im a (Taurus was the last one I had this dialogue with, but it could be any sign, basically), what can you say about me?

You gotta be a really good salesperson, not necessarily a good astrologer, to respond to that.

No one would dare a psycholgist or a doctor with such conffessional question or more appropriate, questioning confession.

I hold an intimate knowladge on you, woman! Respect yourself and me by not asking me that in such circumstances as in public atc.

Astrological take on Saturn and personal vs generational planets

Common “translation” of Saturn positions (sign and house) is hardships and obstacles in the area of life where Saturn is present. What is usually missing from the discussion is Saturn’s way of putting the blame on yourself and have tones of guilt regarding the issue it covers on your life. You tend to blame yourself for all failures hardships and issues regarding the house and sign its in, to a point you might believe this issue is causing you problems and not vice verse. actually you are tend to be so strict, closed minded and full of self doubt regarding Saturn’s area of control in your life that you might believe it is a karmic cycle.
When analyzing a chart, take a close look on relationships between personal and interpersonal AKA generational planets. all relationships between personal aspects of the chart (Sun, AC, atc) and other planets might show you determining relationships in one’s life. Here for example Sun and Mercury are in conjunction and opposite Scorpio Pluto and AC. the energy of the sun is ‘trapped’ between 2 masculine planets representing masculine energies in chart’s owner life.

I have a client with Cancer moon and prominent Saturn on the 5th house of romance, creativity and fun.

They are into older partners because both Saturn in 5th with its elderly orientation and Moon in Cancer with its dependency and co-dependency tendencies aims at the same idea, having a partner to rely on.

with Sun in the 7th house of relationships they ARE the perfect partner or at least very oriented to their partner.

It all came up because the focus of my consultant was their romantic relationship. They came to me to try and solve some issues.

another opportunity to practice reading natal charts came yesterday when a friend asked me to tip them astrologically about a new person they are dating with. after having the date’s exact time, place and date of birth I analyzed the chart in less then 2 minutes including calculations and texted back a list of facts about the person that were obvious from the chart. 2 minutes later I received a text back saying the message was delivered and the receiver replied with אמאלה meaning omg how scary the accuracy of the reading was.

Astrology reading is very much like analyzing back a mixture of colors.

You get to see the full person but the chart shows you what they are made of, just like when you know that mint green is made of this percentage of ultramarine blue, that percentage of yellow lemon and some white. You look at the chart as 12 different pre-defied patterns that organizes the personality, the tendencies, atc.

only after learning and analyzing these things you can look at transits – the current movement of the different planets – and see how it affects the chart.

physical characteristics of the different signs

Aries – usually lighter then their family members (skin tone)

Taurus – women are good looking

Gemini – long forehead and face

Cancer – baby face, eyes further apart. usually take after father’s facial features

Leo – have golden brown honey like hue around their iris

Virgo – have a clean look, slanted eyes

how to read transits

After you have learned to read charts you might be interested in knowing how to read current transits.

Transits are the route of the planets, as seen from earth, on a given day, put along your natal chart.

Here we see transiting planets in green while natal ones are in black.

For example, Pluto was entering Aquarius yesterday (January 20, 2024) and everyone with sun, moon or AC on 0 degrees Aquarius are feeling this transition of Pluto the most.

Transits affect everyone, but in different levels according to the position of the natal planets and houses in signs. For example, yesterday’s Pluto transit into Aquarius affects everyone – depending on the exact point or points Pluto meets on their natal chart. for example, although I have zero points, locations or planets on 0 degrees Aquarius, I do have Pluto right now transiting my 11th house and its transition into Aquarius is going to affect the house its transiting – in my case, the 11th house of friends, communities and groups of influence. This house is being affected and is going to be affected by the nature of Pluto in Aquarius and the traits its getting from entering this airy, fix and advanced sign.

Transits also happen when a planet makes significant angle to a natal planet. Usually the bigger, slower and further transiting planets (Pluto, Uranus, Neptune) set the trend of the influence while the smaller, personal, closer to earth planets (Sun. Moon, Veus, Mercury) show the nuances or are being subjugated to the trend and affect of the bigger planets.

Meaning of your sun sign

We are all producing energies of some kind, as we live.

Astrology in some parts refers to the energy you produce by your Sun sign.

Sun sign is where your Sun was positioned the time you were born. Not only it dwelled in one of the 12 signs but it was also angling other planets at this particular time and point you were born. In addition there are interpretations and meanings for each of the 30 degrees of each of the 12 signs.

Energy of a particular sign may effect your sun as it dwells on a certain house that relates to one of the 12 signs: 1st house to Aries, second to Taurus, third to Gemini etc.

For example, sun on the 8th house may produce some Scorpio energy, especially if at instance it is conjunct to Pluto, Scorpio’s ruler.

So what does each of the signs produce? what kind of energy?

Aries – produces energy and enthusiasm

Taurus – produces comfort and practicality

Gemini – produces words and communication

Cancer – produces Home and familiarity

Leo – produces evolvement and growth

Virgo – produces order and organization

Libra – produces balance and equivalence

Scorpio – produces depth and investigation

Sagittarius – produces wealth and expansion

Capricorn – produces minimalism and contraction

Aquarius – produces detachedness and analytical thinking

Pisces – produces compassion and dissolvement

Therefore, you can not, for example, predict one’s job or compatibility by their sun sign but you definitely can tell what kind of energy they produce or bring as workers as well as friends, partners etc.

Synastry chart – the up and down sides of your relationship

Today I encountered someone who asked online for a quick reading for a chart.

I had no idea who the person was so I just said what seemed to be obvious from the chart – that the person had an Aquarius moon on the 2nd house conjunct with Neptune and that this person is probably making money out of art.

I also saw an exact entrance of Jupiter, ruler of this chart, into the 5th house of romance, hobbies and pets so I mentioned this time is probably a time of self development through these areas of life.

It all seemed to be right since the inquirer told me that they were dating this person and would love to have their relationship chart, named Synastry.

since Synastrys are my favorite Astrology practice, I decided to dedicate a post to this subject or field of Astrology and Astrology reading.

a Synastry involves both sides strongest traits as they come to manifestation in a specific relationship. The way programs draw a synastry is easy – they just put two charts one outside the other in a way that the astrologer can read the poinrs or traits of both people and the way they kind of ‘speak’ with each other.

Often times it is very much of a discussion coming to life for me, when reading a synastry chart. the elements actually speak up with each other by different tones and other vocal nuances that can teach me about the relationship itself.

Off course, a synastry chart reading can not be replaced by, only based on, natal chart reading. meaning you are going to use the appropriate tools on your favorite astrology program or website to see the spread of the synastry. after being spread this way, charts have special angles and points that seem to speak to each other louder then others. Those are points where planets conjunct, opposite, square or sextile to each other.

Generally, the more dominant a planet or point is in one’s chart the more weight it has for the synastry calculation. Although, we can have some people ‘doing’ all kind of things to us – make us feel special, or understood, or even karmatically attached somehow. Usually, those connections will be manifested in the synastry and its attachment points.

In the picture you can see circled in black are the conjunctions, yellow – the sextile and pink – square.

usually all angles are meaningful (imagine them not talking to each other at all) but while sextiles are fluent positive energy and conjunctions are intense energy, squares tend to be more challenging to deal with though not necessarily difficult or fatalistically destructive for a relationship. having Saturn squaring someone’s Venus, sun or moon is better then…. right, not having them communicating at all.

And one last thing about synastries – try, for practice, having your synastry with someone that you like artistically such as a novelist or a painter. usually you will find some interesting connections….

Planets and signs in natal 4th house

In Astrology we search for significant telltales on a natal chart. The 4th house is where we find clues for father figure, father background and family background. There we an see indication for immigration, education, trauma and so on events and circumstances that were and are involved with the father and the family.

A populated 4th house increases the chances of patriotic activity and an emphasized 11th house shows tribal involvement (community) in one’s life.

for example:

well aspected and strong moon on the 4th house may show a lineage of strong women.

Neptune on the 4th house shows a religious background

Pluto in this position talks about immigration or some other physical transformation that happened to family or father

As for signs of the 4th they don’t tell much but the ruler of 4th house can give us more details about one’s brought up and family background.

the Hebrew letters connection between Astrology and Kabbalah

Hebrew alphabet is represented in the Kabbalah Tree of Life, which also represents the Astrology Signs and Planets.

the sephirot themselves are represented by the planets:

Keter (crown) – Uranus

Chochmah (wisdom) – Neptune

Binah (understanding) – Saturn

Chessed (mercy) – Jupiter

Gevurah (strength, courage) – Mars

Tipheret (beauty) – Sun

Netzach (victory, eternity) – Venus

Hod (splendor) – Mercury

Yesod (the foundation) – Moon

Malchut (the kingdom) – Earth

and the paths between the sephirot, that are connected to the signs:

Netzach-Malkuth is ק and Pisces (dagim דגים)

Netzach- Yesod is צ and Aries (tale טלה)

Hod-Tipheret is ע and Capricorn (gedi גדי)

Gvurah-Chessed is ט and Leo (arie אריה)

Binah-Tipheret is ז and Gemini (te’omim תאומים)

Chochmah-Tipheret is ה and Aquarius (deli דלי)

Tipheret-Chesed is י and Virgo (betula בתולה)

Tipheret-Netzach is נ ans Scorpio (akrav עקרב)

Chochmah-Chessed is ו and Taurus (shor שור)

Binah-Gvurah is ח and Cancer (sartan סרטן)

Tipheret-Gvurah is ל and Libra (mozna’im מאזנים)

Also, the Sephirot are related to the different Signs qualities: Mutable, Fixed and Cardinal.

Netzach (Victory & eternity) is for fixed signs: Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio and Leo. Its planet is Venus.

Hod (highness), Yesod (element) & Malchut (kingship) are for mutable signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.

OK so now you know some of the basic connections between kabbalah and Astrology. How to take it further to some practical knowledge or even practices?

I know of an interesting Kabbalistic path that analyzes your spiritual soul code and is based on the Hebrew letters and their combinations into sentences from the כתובים, the complete Jewish traditional writing including the bible and its by heart and by writing interpretations.

The astrological way through this path could be the abbility to understand Astrologically the code for one’s soul by looking bot on date of birth and Hebrew personal name, Hebrew calendar date of birth and mother’s Hebrew name.
